This notice explains the informed consent Dear Momma requests before you use the Service. It works together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1.Why We Ask for Consent
Dear Momma may process sensitive information about you, your baby, your children, your postpartum recovery, your fertility and cycle, your nursing and pumping, your household, and the people who support you. Because of the sensitive nature of this information, we ask for your informed consent before you use the Service.
By creating an account and using Dear Momma, you confirm that you have read and understood this notice, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service, and that you consent to the data practices described in them.
2.What You Consent To
By using Dear Momma, you consent to our processing of:
- account, profile, and contact information
- child and baby profile and care information, including sleep, feeding, diaper, pumping, growth, medication, symptom, milestone, and routine entries
- mom, parent, and postpartum information, including mood, recovery, symptoms, pain, sleep, medication, mental health check-ins, and self-care
- fertility, cycle, nursing, temperature, and reproductive health-adjacent information
- household and village information, including roles, invitations, permissions, and helper activity
- feedback, support, and participation information
- device, usage, diagnostic, and security information
- integration, wearable, device, and third-party health data you authorize
- AI, analytics, product, derived, aggregated, and de-identified data created through your use of the Service
Only enter or import information you are comfortable with Dear Momma processing as described in this notice and the Privacy Policy.
3.Household and Village Sharing
Dear Momma lets you invite partners, family members, friends, and other trusted helpers into your household or village with roles and permissions you control. You consent to the information you share being visible to those members according to their roles.
Removing someone from your household or village stops their future access, but it does not erase what they already saw, exported, or copied.
4.Optional Integrations, Apple Health, HealthKit, Wearables, and Third-Party Health Data
You may optionally connect Apple Health, Apple HealthKit, Oura, wearable devices, health or fitness apps, device exports, partner exports, and similar services. We access this data only when you connect or authorize an integration.
We do not sell Apple Health or HealthKit data to advertisers, data brokers, or similar parties, and we do not share it without your express permission. You can grant or revoke permissions per data type, and disconnecting an integration stops future syncing.
5.AI Processing and Model Improvement
You consent to Dear Momma using your information to provide AI-powered features and to train, tune, test, evaluate, and improve AI models and related systems used by or for Dear Momma.
AI output may be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, mental health care, or a substitute for a qualified professional.
Once information has contributed to model outputs, embeddings, weights, model improvements, benchmarks, or other derived outputs, it may not be attributable to or deletable for a single user.
6.Aggregated, De-Identified, and Derived Data
We may create aggregated, de-identified, or derived data from your use of the Service, content, feedback, logs, integrations, analytics, or AI processing. We use this data to operate, secure, improve, and develop the Service, and we do not attempt to re-identify it.
Aggregated, de-identified, and derived data may be retained after you delete your account, because it no longer identifies you.
7.How Long We Keep Your Data
When you delete your account, your personal information enters a 30-day restoration grace period during which you can restore your account. After that period, deletion proceeds and remaining personal information is removed from active systems, with backups cleared in the ordinary course of backup rotation.
Aggregated, de-identified, derived, model, and product-improvement data may be retained as described above. See Data & Account Deletion for the full process.
8.Exporting Your Data
You may request an export of your personal information before deleting your account. Exports may not include aggregated, de-identified, or derived data, model internals, other users' information, or information we are required to retain for legal or security reasons.
9.Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted third-party service providers to host, operate, secure, analyze, and support the Service, including cloud database and hosting providers, analytics providers, email providers, and AI infrastructure providers. These providers process information on our behalf under contractual obligations. The named provider list is maintained in our Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information or your child's information, and we do not use health-adjacent information for advertising.
10.Important Safety Reminder
Dear Momma is not a medical device, healthcare provider, mental health provider, pediatric care provider, lactation consultant, or emergency service.
Do not use Dear Momma for emergencies. If you, your baby, your child, or another person may be experiencing an emergency, crisis, self-harm risk, violence, infant safety concern, feeding or breathing emergency, allergic reaction, dehydration, fever, medication concern, or other urgent safety issue, call emergency services or contact a qualified professional immediately.
